Workshop Facilitation

Countryscape was sub-contracted to the Living Landscapes Project (University of Reading) to help facilitate a series of community workshops in Shropshire and Hampshire, as part of the CPRE Outreach Programme - a pilot project, aiming to engage local people in Landscape Character Assessment.

In this instance, Countryscape worked with Dr Joanne Tippett of Holocene Design in developing a creative thinking exercise, based upon the technique of mind-mapping. Participants were encouraged to explore ideas and experiences relating to their local landscape, in order to help identify and describe their own unique sense of place. Countryscape is now working with Dr Tippett in further developing this participatory technique.

Client Feedback:

“Living Landscapes Project called on Countryscape at fairly short notice to help us deliver part of a wide ranging community consultation exercise on a national project. They responded not only with enthusiasm, but with creativity and imagination, and got to grips with the direction and feel of the project immediately - not always the easiest thing to do when brought into the job fairly late in the day. Their role was delivered very professionally, and added greatly to the success of the consultation events” - Mark Diacono, Living Landscapes Project
