Countryscape has worked with the Forest of Bowland Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB) in developing a ‘Sense of Place Toolkit’ for local businesses. The aim of the toolkit is to help businesses understand the special qualities of the AONB and to use these qualities in order to develop and promote their own product – as well as contribute to the sustainable tourism of the area.
The toolkit comprises a printed guidance booklet and accompanying CD-ROM. The booklet contains clearly written information and advice, which is colour-coded into sections, based upon the key messages of the AONB - eg. ‘Delicious Food & Drink’, ‘A Place to Enjoy and Keep Special’. The CD-ROM (attached at the back of the booklet) contains a selection of downloadable text and images, which business are free to use as part of their own publicity materials.
Countryscape was responsible for editing the toolkit into plain English, as well as producing the final booklet and CD.
