Strategic Landscape Sensitivity Workshop
Hampshire County Council, in conjunction with West Berkshire Council, is developing a methodology for assessing inherent landscape sensitivity at a strategic level. The methodology aims to respond to PPG1 and PPS7, which place emphasis on land use planning decisions being informed by the character of the landscape. In 2005, they held a peer review workshop to disseminate the approach and discuss its applicability as a widely used planning tool. Countryscape facilitated the event and reported back to Hampshire County Council with full transcriptions of the discussion sessions that occurred throughout the day.
