Stakeholder Involvement

Working towards sustainable development, and involving a cross-section of people in the process, requires a mix of careful planning and creativity. On one hand, planners and developers need a 'toolbox' of services to facilitate decision-making and communication with local communities. On the other hand, the communities themselves require easy access to information, coupled with real incentives to participate in the planning and development process.

At the core of Countryscape's approach are the key elements of people, location and landscape - building on local knowledge and resources through new ways of interacting, communicating and decision-making. We specialise in developing custom-made tools to help facilitate stakeholder involvement, ranging from websites, maps and visualisations, to managing workshops and public relations, all informed by a holistic understanding of the natural and cultural environment.

Examples of work include organising and facilitating stakeholder events for clients such as Groundwork, Manchester City Council, Havant Borough Council and the Campaign to Protect Rural England. Topics have ranged from stakeholder involvement in landscape planning, character assessment and biodiversity auditing, to community website development, local heritage and interpretation.
